On 7 October, a car unexpectedly caught fire in the B4 basement of Saigon Centre. Upon detection, the on-site teams swiftly activated emergency response protocols. Thanks to their prompt and coordinated actions, the fire was fully extinguished within minutes. Timely intervention by the team had effectively contained the incident, preventing further escalation. The Ho Chi Minh City Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police arrived promptly at the scene to assess the situation and investigate the cause. Mall operations resumed safely and returned to normal shortly after.

Mr. Lim Kay Siong (fourth from left), General Director of Keppel Land Watco I to V, the joint venture company of Saigon Centre, said, “I would like to thank the Ho Chi Minh City Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police, the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, on-site staff of Saigon Centre as well as the security and service teams from Saigon Centre’s service providers companies. Their efforts kept the customers, tenants and colleagues safe. That means everything.”

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Xuan Phuong (middle), Deputy Head of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: “Saigon Centre and its tenants have demonstrated strong performance in fire prevention and safety. Equipment and tools are well-maintained, regular inspections are conducted, and emergency drills and training for on-site teams are effectively organised and prioritised by the building’s management.”
Safety is a cornerstone of Saigon Centre’s operations. The Company has invested in a comprehensive fire protection system, including fire detection and suppression, smoke control, emergency exits, and an integrated surveillance camera system.
